General Manager

Debbie Riddiford, General ManagerDebbie has been Practice Manager at Eastleigh since 1997. Previously, she worked as Fundholding Manager, looking after contracts with the hospitals, managing budgets and waiting lists. Debbie started working in the health service as a GP receptionist which has given her an understanding of patients needs. Her experience has given her a broad understanding of the system at all levels in the NHS. Her current role involves business management and strategic planning as well as operational management of the Practice. Debbie says that the role of Practice Manager is very broad and very exciting as you never know what challenges the day will bring!

Reception Team

The reception team at Westbury Group Practice cover many areas including:

  • Will help you make appointments
  • Assist with repeat prescriptions
  • Take home visit requests
  • Are trained to ask questions about your problems to help you access the service relevant to your needs

Admin Team

The administration department deals with your queries regarding insurance forms, charges for letters and forms which you have asked the doctor to complete, and with patients who wish to register with Westbury Group Practice. They liaise with the Health Authority regarding any changes of addresses or phone numbers of patients.

Secretarial Team

The doctor's secretary handles all incoming and outgoing correspondence for the GPs. She types and sends all types of referrals to consultants and hospitals and when the letters come back from clinics, she will scan them onto patient's notes.

Your doctor's secretary is able to advise patients on a wide variety of issues and if she doesn't know the answer herself she will be able to help you access someone that does.

Has no secretary based at the site - please contact Diane at Eastleigh Surgery who deals with Dr Edwards' patients.

Results Team

We have a dedicated results team that manage many of the test results that have been reported by the GP's. They liaise with patients at the GP's request to pass on any necessary information and instructions via telephone or letter.

Patient Services Coordinator

Michelle Coleman, Patient Services CoordinatorMichelle Coleman has been with Westbury Group Practice since January 1994, first starting her working life at Eastleigh Surgery as a Junior Receptionist. Other posts include, Medical Receptionist, Prescription Clerk and Reception Supervisor. Michelle became Patient Services Co-ordinator in 2001, which involves managing the reception team, telephone system, appointment/triage system, doctors & nurses rotas and complaints. In recent months, Michelle has also taken on the management of the Admin & Secretarial Teams.

Her extensive knowledge of Westbury Group Practice enables her to help patients access & gain understanding of the services provided by Westbury Group Practice. She works closely with the Patients Forum and other voluntary services and is an information point for patients. Please contact Michelle if you would like help or information in any of these areas.

Deputy Business Manager

Amanda Brookes has joined Westbury Group Practice and Bradford on Avon Health Centre as Deputy Business Manager. Amanda joined the NHS in 1993 and has a wealth of knowledge about the National Health Service and in particular how health services are commissioned for patients. She has held various Commissioning and Project Manager posts within Wiltshire Primary Care Trust. Amanda is a member of the Institute of Healthcare Management. In recent years her particular interest has been working with GP Practices in West Wiltshire to develop a better service for people with a Common Mental Health Disorder.

Finance Manager

Mark Dickson is responsible for the day to day finance of Westbury Group Practice. His role is shared with Bradford on Avon Health Centre.

IT Support Technician

Paul North joined the practice in 2008 in a shared role with Bradford on Avon Health Centre. With the ever increasing reliance on IT and technology, Paul's responsibilities are the support, maintenance and management of all our IT systems.
